Traveler's Backpack lets players carry a container on their character or place it in the world, with five tiers of storage that can be upgraded.

What it does

A backpack can be held in the main hand and opened by right-clicking, or equipped on the back through the backpack screen and opened with a key, which is B by default. Placed as a block, its storage can be filled and emptied by hoppers and pipes. Equipped backpacks render on the player's back.

The mod offers five tiers, from Leather up to the top tier, and each tier adds storage, upgrade slots and tool slots. Counts per tier can be changed in the config, along with enabled upgrades, mob and chest loot, and backpack abilities. It is a successor to JavierDarkona's Adventure Backpack with new textures and features, and it is the official port of that design. Client and server both load it, and the source is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, so the license is open source.

Key features

  1. Five storage tiers

    Leather, Iron, Gold, Diamond and the top tier, each with more storage, upgrade slots and tool slots.

  2. Equip or hold

    A backpack can be equipped on the back through the backpack screen or simply held in the main hand.

  3. Placeable block

    The backpack can be set in the world, where hoppers and pipes can reach its contents.

  4. Curios, Trinkets and Accessories

    With those integrations installed, the backpack equips only into the back slot.

  5. Config options

    Slot counts per tier, upgrade functions, loot sources and backpack abilities can all be changed in the config.
