TrashSlot
by BlayTheNinth
With TrashSlot, a draggable slot in every inventory screen takes unwanted items out of play, and the last item sent there can be taken back out.
What it does
Dropping an item onto the trash slot deletes it, and the most recently deleted item stays stored there so it can be taken back out if the deletion was a mistake. The slot can be dragged to a new position with the mouse cursor, and it can be turned on or off on nearly every screen by pressing T.
Keyboard shortcuts cover the same job: the Delete key removes the item under the cursor, and Shift with Delete removes every item of that type. Balm is a required dependency on all three loaders, and Fabric API is also required on Fabric. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.18 – 26.3, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are released under All rights reserved, and the source code is not open source.
Key features
Trash slot deletion
Items dropped into the trash slot are removed from the inventory, which keeps clutter out of storage.
Undo for the last item
The last trashed item stays in the slot and can be taken out again, which covers accidental drops.
Movable slot
The trash slot is dragged to any position on screen, and the chosen spot is kept between sessions.
Keyboard deletion
The Delete key removes the item under the cursor, and Shift with Delete removes every item of the same type.

Use cases
Sorting a full inventory
Players clearing out stacks of unwanted drops can remove them in a few keystrokes instead of dragging each one out.
Who it’s for: Players who gather large amounts of loot, and server owners who want a trash option on a shared server.
How it compares
Trash Can is a Forge-only file for 1.20.1, released under All rights reserved and not open source, with a client and server environment. Bin Slot is a Fabric mod for 1.21.7 – 26.3 that the server requires while the client may skip it, and it is open source under the MIT License.
