Cherished Worlds
Cherished Worlds adds a bookmark to each world on the select screen, keeping a chosen world listed first and blocking its deletion until the bookmark is cleared.
What it does
Once the mod is installed, an empty icon appears beside every world on the select screen. Clicking the icon bookmarks that world, and a bookmarked world always sorts above the unmarked ones and cannot be deleted until it is unmarked. There is no limit on how many worlds can be bookmarked. When several are bookmarked, they are ordered among themselves by the date they were last played.
On Fabric the mod needs Fabric API, and on Quilt it needs either Quilted Fabric API (QFAPI) or Quilt Standard Libraries (QSL). Builds are available for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 34 release versions, with files covering 1.12.2 – 26.3, and the code is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later.

How it compares
Delete Worlds To Trash is client-side only, open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, and published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.20.1 – 26.3, so it handles deletion differently rather than pinning worlds. Persistent Worlds is client-side only, open source under the MIT License, and published for Fabric and Forge for 1.20 – 1.20.1.
