Curios API

by TheIllusiveC4

Curios gives mod developers a way to add extra accessory and equipment slots, and lets players set up those slots to their own taste.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or laterOpen source1.13.2 – 26.3

What it does

On its own, Curios adds no content beyond an inventory screen. It defines no slots and no items for players, apart from two example items that appear only in the Creative menu. Their purpose is to show developers how to build their own integration.

Other mods register slots through Curios, and players then use the slot settings to decide how many of each slot type they have. Commands and an example datapack are included for testing and setup. Curios is client and server, so server owners and each player install it. It requires Fabric API on Fabric, and it is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 32 release versions covering 1.13.2 – 26.3. The license is GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, and the project is open source.

Key features

  1. Developer slot API

Developers can add accessory and equipment slots through a shared interface, so their mods work with other Curios-based mods.

  2. Configurable slots

Players and server owners can adjust the number and type of slots to suit their preferences.

  3. Commands

Commands are included for managing and checking slots, which helps with testing integrations.

  4. Example datapack

An example datapack shows how slot data is set up, giving developers a reference point.

  5. Development setup guide

The project includes a guide to setting up a development environment for building Curios integrations.

Questions

Does Curios need Fabric API?

Yes. On Fabric, the Fabric API library must be installed alongside Curios for it to load.

Do players need Curios installed?

Curios is client and server, so the server and each player need it when a mod that depends on it is installed.

Why are there no slots after installing Curios?

Curios adds only an inventory screen by default. Slots come from other mods that register them through the API.

Which versions does Curios support?

Curios has 32 release versions, covering 1.13.2 – 26.3. The newest NeoForge build, 17.0.0-beta.3 for 26.3, is a beta build.

In the catalog

Curios API is one of 3,514 Library mods on ModsFinder, and one of 2,348 Library mods for Fabric. 8,071 mods support Minecraft 26.3.
