Geckolib is a 3D animation and rendering library that many mods use to animate entities, blocks, items and armor.

What it does

Mods that need complex moving models build them on Geckolib. It supports keyframe-based 3D animations with more than 30 easing types, several animations playing at once, and keyframes that trigger sounds, particles or custom events. Documentation for mod developers is kept in the project wiki.

Players install it as a dependency: 2,053 catalog mods require it, such as Oh The Biomes We've Gone, Naturalist, Aquamirae, Creeper Overhaul and Mowzie's Mobs. Players need it on the client, while a server can run without it. The MIT License makes it open source, and Fabric, Forge and NeoForge files share version 5.5.7 for 26.3.

    Models move through keyframe animations with more than 30 easing curves to choose from.
