Mowzie's Mobs

by BobMowzie

Players who want new bosses with distinct attack patterns can add Mowzie's Mobs, which brings fictional creatures, from a jungle plant to an underground armored knight, to Forge and NeoForge.

What it does

The mod adds a set of original creatures with their own behavior. Several are bosses that drop equipment when defeated. Foliaath is a jungle plant that waits in ferns and attacks anything that comes near. A player can raise a baby foliaath from a seed by feeding it meat over two in-game days. Ferrous Wroughtnaut is an armored knight found underground, and it drops the Wrought Helm and the Axe of a Thousand Metals. The axe attacks in a wide arc on right click and pulls targets closer with a shockwave on shift-right click. Frostmaw, a large ice beast in snowy areas, guards an ice crystal, and Grottol is a cave crustacean that drops diamonds.

The mod is built on Geckolib, which must be installed alongside it. Files exist for Forge and NeoForge in two game versions, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. Mowzie's Mobs needs to be present on the client and the server. The license is a custom one, and the source code and issue tracker are public. Six catalog mods require Mowzie's Mobs, including Integrated Mowzie's Mobs and Goety Integration.

Key features

  1. Unique boss behavior

Each boss has its own attack patterns, with movement and abilities that differ from one creature to the next.

  2. Foliaath growth

A seed planted on grass or dirt grows into a foliaath after meat is fed to the baby plant across two in-game days.

  3. Wroughtnaut weapon

The Axe of a Thousand Metals attacks in an arc on right click and creates a shockwave that pulls targets closer.

  4. Unbreakable drops

Neither of the Wroughtnaut's tools can break, so the equipment stays usable after the fight.
