EMIffect

by moechakucha

With the EMI addon EMIffect installed, status effects appear in EMI's item and effect lists, each with a description of what it does.

What it does

Status effects get their own entries in EMI, the recipe and item viewer, so a player can look up an effect without leaving the game. Each entry includes a short text describing what the effect does. The built-in descriptions for vanilla effects are drawn from a set that the mod's own project credits as its inspiration.

Mod authors can supply descriptions for their own effects through language files, using a key built from their mod id and the effect name, with either a description or desc suffix. The mod needs EMI and Fabric API, and it runs on the client alone, so servers do not need it. Files exist for 1.19.2 – 1.21.1 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt.

Key features

  1. Effect entries in EMI

Status effects are listed inside EMI so players can search for them like any other item or recipe.

  2. Effect descriptions

Each status effect shows a text explaining its function, drawn from a built-in set of descriptions.

  3. Descriptions from language files

Modders can add descriptions for their own effects by providing language file keys in a predefined format.
