EMI Trades

by moechakucha

With EMI Trades installed, the item and recipe viewer also shows what Villagers and wandering traders sell, including the items and emeralds each trade costs.

What it does

The addon adds Villager trade support to the item and recipe viewer. A trade entry lists the cost and the payment side by side, so a player can look up a trade without opening a Villager.

Each trade also shows the Villager level needed to access it, which tells a player how far a profession must progress before a given offer appears. Wandering trader offers are covered as well, so the same lookup works for both kinds of trading.

The mod is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across five release versions, 1.18.2 – 1.20.4, and it is open source under the MIT License. Only the client needs it, so servers run without it and players can add it on their own copy of the game.

Key features

  1. Trade costs and payments

Each Villager trade lists the items a player must give and the items received in return.

  2. Required Villager level

Every trade shows the Villager level needed to reach it, so progression is visible before a Villager is found.

  3. Wandering trader support

Offers from wandering traders appear in the same viewer as Villager trades.

  4. Lookup in the viewer

Trades are browsed in the viewer interface, next to recipes and other entries the viewer already tracks.

Use cases

Planning a trade route

A player checks which Villager offers use the emeralds and goods they already hold before going to find a Villager.

Finding a trade without a search

Instead of visiting Villagers one by one, a player looks up the item they want in the viewer and sees every trade that yields it.

Who it’s for: Players who want Villager and wandering trader offers in the same viewer. Single-player and multiplayer clients both run the addon.

What the author says

An addon for EMI adding Villager Trade support. This mod adds a very simple config in 1.0.2 (config/emitrades.toml or config/emitrades.json5 in 1.2.0+), only to toggle the old and new display of recipes. No GUI yet, so you need to manually edit it.
