CobbleDollars [Cobblemon Addon]
by Hazuriel
With CobbleDollars, Cobblemon players earn money from wild Pokémon and spend it at merchants, and the mod also lets them trade items at a bank.
What it does
Money enters the game through combat: defeating wild Pokémon pays a sum that depends on the level of the Pokémon. Merchants spawn in overworld villages at about 8% of village generation, and vanilla villagers can take the CobbleMerchant profession when a block from Cobblemon is used on them. A merchant follows the player while a Poké Ball is held, so buying can happen away from the village.
Merchants sell Poké Balls at a fixed price under the Balls category, and sell Sticks together with Cogwheels from the Create mod under the Items category. The bank accepts Emeralds and Red Apricorns at set rates. Items from other mods can also be placed in the bank.
CobbleDollars is a Cobblemon addon. It needs Cobblemon, Architectury API, Kotlin for Forge and Fabric API on Fabric, and it is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. The code is under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.

Server economies

Who it’s for: Players and server owners who run Cobblemon on Fabric, Forge or NeoForge and want an in-game currency tied to battles and trading.
How it compares
CobbleMerchant++ is for Fabric and NeoForge only, runs on 1.21.1 and is server required with the client optional; it is not open source and is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0. Cobblemon Hunt is open source under the MIT License, runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, and is server-side only, so players join without installing it. CobbleDollars runs on Forge as well and needs both sides.
