Goety - The Dark Arts
by Polarice3
Goety - The Dark Arts is a Forge and NeoForge magic mod for necromancy, rituals and summoned minions fueled by souls.
What it does
Souls are collected by killing mobs and stored in a Totem of Souls, then spent on spells and on healing minions. Certain mobs yield more Soul Energy than others, and the mod adds new mobs, structures and treasures to find while exploring.
Crafting starts with a totem that must be filled with Soul Energy before several components can be made. A Cursed Infuser is needed for many of the recipes, and Patchouli supplies the in-game Black Book that describes the features. Curios API is also required. The mod is configurable and runs on client and server; it is released under the MIT License and is open source. Files cover 1.16.5, 1.19.2, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, with the latest build for 1.20.1 dated 2026-10-14. Public source code, an issue tracker and a wiki are available. Twenty-two other mods require Goety, including Goety: Revelation and Goety Cataclysm.
