Polar's Mad Tweaks
by Polarice3
Polar's Mad Tweaks changes how vanilla mobs behave, adding a set of odd rules to combat, status effects and the Warden's territory.
What it does
Status effects gain new roles in this mod. Regeneration slowly heals non-undead mobs while they are fighting a target, and sleeping slowly heals mobs and players alike. Blindness shortens a mob's detection range in the way Invisibility does, and applying aggression can make a mob lose track of its target. Strength boosts the damage of a projectile before that projectile lands its first hit. Mobs with the Hunger effect take periodic hunger damage, since they have no hunger meter, and applying Saturation removes the Hunger effect.
Other changes affect the world and creatures directly. Mobs with 100 or less maximum health retreat when the Warden approaches. A fish held in the main hand turns each punch into a heavy shove. Three blocks around lava set entities alight through rising heat. Every change can be enabled or disabled through the mod's config, except Magma Cubes, which the config does not control.
The mod is licensed under the MIT License and is open source, with a public source code repository and issue tracker. It is published for Forge and NeoForge across 1.19.2 – 1.20.1, with 1.20-1.5 for 1.20.1 as the latest file. Client and server both need it, so players and the server must install it together.
