Spell Engine
Spell Engine is a data driven magic library that lets developers and players add spell casting, spell books and weapon-linked spells to Minecraft.
What it does
The library provides a complete spell casting system. Spells are defined in JSON, hot-reload without a restart and synchronize over the network, and they can be assigned to any weapon with automatic compatibility. Spell power comes from entity attributes, so damage scales with the caster's stats. Developers can also generate spells in code with SpellBuilder and SpellGenerator.
Spells have three types (active, passive and modifier), several cast modes including instant, charged and channeled, more than fourteen trigger types, and delivery methods such as projectiles, meteors, clouds and arrows. Projectiles can home, ricochet, bounce, pierce or chain. Equipment sets can grant spells, attributes and special abilities. Spell Engine is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only.
The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 12 release versions, 1.19 – 26.3, and runs on client and server. Fabric API, Cloth Config API, Curios API, Trinkets, playerAnimator and Spell Power Attributes are required. Forty-nine other catalog mods depend on it, including the RPG Series content mods, which come with melee attack skills assigned by default.
