Persistent Worlds

by Apothicon

Persistent Worlds is a client-side Fabric and Forge mod that disables the Delete World button on the world selection screen.

FabricForgeClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.20 – 1.20.1

What it does

It removes the Delete World button from the world selection screen, so a save cannot be deleted by a misclick from that menu. The author made it after accidentally deleting one of their own worlds. Only that button is changed; the rest of the menu works as before. Persistent Worlds runs on the client alone, and the Minecraft server does not need it. Files are available for Fabric and Forge for 1.20.1, and the source code is public under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Delete World button disabled

The button that deletes a world is removed from the world selection screen, protecting saves from accidental deletion.

  2. Single purpose

The mod changes only that one button and adds no other screens, commands or settings.

  3. Client-side operation

Only the client needs the mod, so a server does not have to install it for the button to be hidden.
