Delete Worlds To Trash

by Fuzs

Delete Worlds To Trash changes what happens when a player deletes a singleplayer world: the save is moved to the system trash or recycle bin instead of being erased.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient-side onlyMozilla Public License 2.0Open source1.20.1 – 26.3

What it does

When a world is deleted in the game, the mod sends its folder to the operating system's trash or recycle bin rather than removing it outright. A player who changes their mind can restore the world from there later. The mod runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and only the client needs it, so servers do not have to install anything. Files cover 1.20.1 – 26.3, and the code is licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, so it is open source.

Key features

  1. Trash instead of erase

Deleting a world moves its save folder to the system trash or recycle bin rather than erasing it.

  2. Recover accidental deletions

A world removed by mistake can be brought back from the trash with the usual operating system restore steps.

  3. Client-side operation

The change happens on the player's own machine, so a world on a server is not affected by this mod.

What the author says

Delete Worlds To Trash changes how world deletion works in Minecraft. 📁 Instead of permanently deleting a world, it moves it to your system trash or recycle bin, giving you a chance to recover it if you change your mind. No more accidental losses or permanent mistakes. 🧠 If a world was important after all, you can…
