Visual Workbench
by Fuzs
Visual Workbench keeps a crafting table's ingredients visible inside the grid while a player works, and draws the recipe on top of the block.
What it does
Items placed in a crafting table stay in the grid instead of vanishing, so the ingredients remain on screen throughout a craft. Breaking the block drops every stored item on the ground, as a crafting table normally would. The ingredients and the finished item are drawn directly on top of the block, which changes how the table looks in the world without changing how recipes work.
Installation is required on both the client and the server, and it needs Fabric API on Fabric, Forge Config API Port on Fabric, and Puzzles Lib on Fabric and NeoForge. Visual Workbench is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 24 release versions, with builds covering 1.19 – 26.3. On Fabric, settings can be changed in game through a mod menu, and a config file can also be edited by hand in the game's config folder.
Key features
Visible ingredients
Items placed in the crafting grid stay visible while the player works, so nothing disappears during a craft.
Rendered recipe on the block
Crafting ingredients and the resulting item are drawn on top of the table, giving the block a clearer look.
Item drops on break
Breaking the table drops all of its contents on the ground, matching the behavior players already expect.
In-game settings
On Fabric, configuration can be changed in game from a menu when a supporting mod is installed.
