Easy Magic lets items stay in an enchanting table after the interface is closed, and adds a paid button that rerolls the enchantments on offer.

What it does

Items placed in the enchanting interface remain on the table after the player closes it, and they are drawn floating around the block. Lapis lazuli and the item to be enchanted are both kept this way. Spaces around the table can now hold blocks with no collision box, such as torches or tall grass, without stopping the bookshelves from counting toward enchantment strength.

The interface gains a reroll button that replaces the enchantments currently offered, for a small cost of lapis lazuli and a few experience points rather than levels. The number of enchantments shown in the preview is configurable, and the bookshelf count needed for maximum-level enchantments can be lowered from 15. The reroll button can be turned off in the config for resource packs that clash with it, and the other functions keep working.

The mod needs Fabric API on Fabric, Forge Config API Port on Fabric, and Puzzles Lib on Fabric and NeoForge. Forge Config Screens is optional and adds an in-game configuration screen. Client and server both need the mod, since it runs on both sides. Builds are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the project is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, and it is not compatible with some other enchanting mods.

    Items kept in the table are rendered floating around the block, with the drawing code adapted from another mod's renderer.

    A button in the enchanting interface rerolls the offered enchantments for a little lapis lazuli and some experience points.

  4. Configurable enchantment count

    The number of enchantments shown in the preview can be set, and the default remains one.

  5. Relaxed bookshelf gap

    Blocks without a collision box, such as torches and tall grass, can now sit between a bookshelf and the table.
