Cut Through
by Fuzs
Cut Through lets a weapon swing past tall grass and other see-through blocks, so a hit can land on a mob standing behind them.
What it does
Cut Through changes how the weapon's hit check treats blocks that have no collision shape, such as tall grass. While fighting, a swing passes through those blocks and reaches the target, and the grass stays where it is instead of being broken to make room. The change applies only on the client, so no server install is needed.
Added checks are small compared with vanilla hit targeting, and the mod is meant to work alongside other mods that depend on the same targeting system. Installation requires Fabric API on Fabric, Forge Config API Port on Fabric, and Puzzles Lib on Fabric and NeoForge. Forge Config Screens is optional. Published builds span 19 release versions, 1.18.2 – 26.3, for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, which is open source.
Key features
Swings through grass
Attacks pass over see-through blocks and still hit a mob standing behind them, with no collision needed to land the blow.
Grass stays intact
Blocks in the swing path are not broken, so no grass has to be removed just to reach an enemy.
Low overhead
The added checks are small compared with vanilla hit targeting, according to the author.
In-game configuration
Where a config is available, it can be changed from the mod menu when a menu mod is installed on Fabric.

How it compares
Swing Through Grass runs server-side only, is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.19.2 – 26.3 and is not open source; it is under the MIT License. Swords Break Grass is also not open source, is under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and needs the server with the client optional for 1.21.5 – 26.3. Cut Tall Grass is open source under the MIT License, requires the server with the client optional, and covers 1.21 – 1.21.11, so it is a second open source option for the same kind of swing.
