Client Tweaks
by BlayTheNinth
Client Tweaks bundles a set of optional quality-of-life changes that players can switch on, off or configure one by one for the client side.
What it does
Each tweak in Client Tweaks targets a small piece of play. Some restore sliders to the main options screen, some change how shields and potion particles appear in the hand and in the view, and some alter ladder climbing, sprinting and tool durability. Many tweaks ship disabled, so a player turns on only the ones they want. Client Tweaks requires Balm, which has to be installed alongside it, and Fabric API on Fabric.
The mod is client-side only, so a server does not need it and players can join a server without installing it. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source. The source code, issue tracker and wiki are public. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 31 release versions, 1.12.2 – 26.3, and the config screen on Fabric needs a separate supported config screen mod.
Key features
Master and music sliders
Volume sliders return to the main options screen, so the common audio settings need one click less.
Shield and particle rendering
Shields can be hidden from the offhand unless a weapon or an active block is involved, and own potion particles can be hidden in first or third person.
Ladder and sprint control
Climbing continues while the player looks upward on a ladder, and sprinting stops when the key is released or toggled off.
Protective item and block rules
Tools with Mending keep their last durability point, fragile blocks resist accidental mining without Shift, and log stripping needs Shift.

Use cases
Long ladder climbs
A player building a deep shaft can look up and type in chat without losing progress on the way back.
Careful building
Hitbox changes for fences, glass panes and chains make placing matching blocks against each other easier.
Who it’s for: Players who want to change small gameplay details on their own client without altering the server.
