Balm
by BlayTheNinth
Balm is an abstraction layer that lets one mod codebase target NeoForge and Fabric, used by BlayTheNinth's mods such as Waystones.
What it does
Developers write against Balm's common interfaces and events instead of loader-specific code. It covers networking, configs and unified integration with common third-party mods, needs no custom Gradle tooling and works with Mojang mappings and Jared's Multiloader template.
Balm does not make Forge and Fabric mods run together. Players only install it when a mod requires it, and on 1.16 and older it is not needed. 66 catalog mods require it, including Waystones, NetherPortalFix, Default Options, Client Tweaks and Crafting Tweaks. On Fabric it depends on Fabric API, under an All rights reserved license.
Key features
Common interfaces
Shared events and interfaces replace most of the code a mod would write once per loader.
All-inclusive
Networking, configs and more are included without third-party dependencies.
Third-party integrations
Support for widely used third-party mods is unified inside the layer, so each mod does not repeat it.
Official tooling
Projects use the official loader Gradle plugins, with no custom build tooling.

What the author says
Balm is a library mod for mod developers that simplifies the process of creating multi-loader mods by providing common interfaces and events and removing the need for most mod-loader specific code. It is not a magic solution for running Forge and Fabric mods together. As a user, you only need to install this mod if…
