Hardcore Revival
by BlayTheNinth
Players who die in hardcore multiplayer can be revived by a friend, as long as the friend reaches them before a timer runs out. Hardcore Revival adds this knockout state.
What it does
When a player dies, the player enters a K.O. state instead of being removed for good, and a countdown starts. A friend who finds the downed player can hold right click to help them back up before the timer ends. A revived player receives a minor penalty and a hunger boost, and both players can carry on together.
If the timer runs out, the player faces final death and can choose to restart. While knocked out, the player can look around and chat, but cannot move, attack or use items. The mod works in both Hardcore and Normal mode, and it needs Balm and Fabric API on Fabric. Hardcore Revival runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for game versions 1.18 – 26.3, under All rights reserved.

How it compares
Revival Orb is a Fabric-only client and server mod for 1.19.2, released under the MIT License, so its source is open. NormalCore is server-side only, released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and covers 1.18.2 – 1.19.2 on Fabric and Quilt, so players need nothing installed. Hardcore Revive is not open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt.

Have you ever played Hardcore multiplayer with friends and suddenly your teammate died to a dumb mistake while you were just being comfy at home? You usually would be forced to restart, even though you didn't really do anything wrong. Maybe your friend didn't do anything wrong either. Overall I believe that death in…
