Sounds
by The Cogs
Sounds replaces and extends the sound effects heard in vanilla play, adding more than 170 new effects for menus, chat, actions and blocks.
What it does
Sound events across the game are changed by this mod. Interface clicks, chat messages, item handling and block sounds receive new recordings, and sounds that were judged poor fits in vanilla are reworked. The recordings come from Zapsplat and were adjusted by hand. Fabric API, MRU and YetAnotherConfigLib are required, and the mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 24 release versions, with builds covering 1.20 – 26.3.
Its roots are in earlier sound mods of the same kind. Most of what those projects offered has been carried over and made configurable. A configuration screen is available on Fabric. Resource packs can change which sound events are used and tune the dynamic block and item sounds, which suits authors building addons for content mods. Client-side only, so it needs no installation on a server.

What the author says
Sounds is a mod that adds a variety of new sound effects to the game, whilst improving existing ones that didn't quite fit. It's a game-changer, it makes vanilla feel incomplete in comparison. The mod is also a spiritual continuation of ExtraSounds, Auditory and QualitySounds; the majority of features from these mods…
