Icebreak

by The Cogs

Icebreak is a Fabric and NeoForge mod in which ice can crack under the player and drop them into the water below.

FabricNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 26.3

What it does

Ice blocks have a rare chance to break when a player jumps on them, so the surface gives way and the player falls into the water beneath. The mod adds new sound effects for jumping on ice, and a later change moved those sounds into the Sounds mod, which the author maintains alongside Icebreak. Its horror elements include night-time blocks that release drowned mobs which start hunting the player.

Icebreak is server-side in use, but the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. It is published for Fabric and NeoForge across seven release versions, 1.20.1 – 26.3, and its latest files target 26.3. The mod needs MRU and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL), and the settings can be opened from Mod Menu. Snapshot builds are published, and the code is not open source; the author keeps all rights reserved.
