Snow Under Trees places snow on the ground beneath trees in snowy biomes, and the server controls whether it generates in new chunks and during snowfall.

What it does

Snow generation is applied only to the biomes listed in the mod's supported biomes setting. Each listed biome ID gets the feature when new chunks are generated, so snow appears under trees as the world grows. The author describes the aim as making snowy biomes more immersive.

Two options in the config file control when snow appears: one disables generation in new chunks, and the other disables snow that forms while it is snowing in the world. Servers can set either one to false. The biome list is editable, so snow can be extended to terrain added by other biome packs, and the author notes that the mod also handles seasonal snow generation and melting under trees.

The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing it. It requires Fabric API and MRU. Files exist for 1.18 – 26.3 across 32 release versions, with 2.7.6+26.3 for 26.3 as the latest Fabric file, published on 2026-09-15. The mod is not open source and is released under All rights reserved, and snapshot builds are published as well.
