Swing Through Grass
by Nikrecs
With Swing Through Grass, a sword swing reaches mobs standing behind tall grass, ferns and other passable plants instead of being stopped by them.
What it does
Plants that do not block movement, such as tall grass, ferns and similar foliage, normally eat an attack before it reaches a mob behind them. This mod lets the hit land through those plants, so a player fighting near grass no longer loses the strike. Solid blocks such as walls, fences and stone still stop attacks as usual, and when several mobs sit on the same line the closest one is the one that gets hit, even if a solid block hides another behind it.
The reach through grass matches the entity interaction range that other equipment mods use, so weapons from those mods are affected the same way. The plant itself stays in place and is not broken when the hit lands. The mod is server-side only, so players can join with an unmodified vanilla client and still get the effect, and it also works in singleplayer. Architectury API is required on every loader, and Fabric also needs Fabric API. Files exist for 1.19.2, 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.11 and the 26.x line up to 26.3, and the mod is licensed under the MIT License but is not open source.
Key features
Hits through foliage
Blows reach a mob standing behind tall grass, ferns or similar plants that do not block movement, so those plants no longer absorb the strike.
Solid blocks still protect
Walls, fences and other solid blocks keep stopping attacks, so cover still works as expected.
Closest mob is hit first
When more than one mob is in line, the nearest one takes the hit, including one that sits behind a solid block.
Plants are not broken
Grass and other plants stay in the world after a hit lands through them.

What the author says
Swing through grass to hit mobs — your attacks stop getting eaten by tall grass, ferns, and other non-colliding plants and reach the entity behind them. Solid blocks still block attacks as usual. Server-side mod — required on the server (or in singleplayer). Vanilla clients can join and use it, no client install…
