Spoiled
by Mrbysco
Spoiled makes food items lose freshness over time, so players must eat or store their supplies before they go bad.
What it does
Food items in Spoiled spoil after one day, and a stack's freshness drops as its age grows. Placing food inside a shulker box stops it from spoiling, and the server config can list other containers that speed spoilage up instead. A client config option changes the food tooltip to show freshness as a percentage.
The mod is intended mainly for modpack developers, who can tune its defaults and pair it with other mods. The wiki explains how to check the settings, and an example in the author notes shows how to make a Cooking for Blockheads fridge spoil food by adding its tile entity to the containerBlacklist in the Spoiled config. CraftTweaker can add or remove spoilage for individual foods. Cloth Config API and Fabric API are required, and the optional dependencies are CraftTweaker, Curios API, Just Enough Items (JEI), Roughly Enough Items (REI) and Sable. Spoiled runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it.
Key features
Timed food spoilage
Food items lose freshness over time, with spoilage starting after one day.
Shulker box protection
Food stored inside a shulker box does not spoil, which gives players a simple way to preserve supplies.
Configurable containers
The server config lists containers that increase spoilage, so server owners decide which storage speeds food decay.
Freshness in tooltips
An optional client setting shows the freshness of food as a percentage in its tooltip.
