RightClickHarvest

by Jam Core

Players who farm by hand can harvest a ripe crop with a right click, and the seed is replanted automatically in RightClickHarvest.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.14 – 26.3

What it does

A right click on a mature crop harvests it and plants the seed again, so a field keeps producing without manual replanting. Vanilla crops are covered, including cocoa beans, cactus and sugar cane, and the mod also handles around 99.9 percent of modded crops with no extra setup.

Hoe behavior can be tuned. A hoe may be required before harvesting, harvesting can use up hunger points, and higher tier hoes can cover a larger radius. Enchanting a hoe with fortune raises the yield. Installation needs Architectury API, Fabric API and JamLib on the loaders that use them, and the mod is server-side only, so players join without installing it.

Files exist for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 43 release versions, 1.14 – 26.3. The latest Fabric and NeoForge builds are 4.6.2+26.3.x for 26.3, released 2026-09-18, and snapshot builds are published. The code is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Right click harvesting

Right clicking a mature crop harvests it and plants the seed again in the same spot.

  2. Vanilla crop coverage

Cocoa beans, cactus, sugar cane and the other vanilla crops can all be harvested this way.

  3. Fortune enchantment

A hoe enchanted with fortune yields more produce from each harvest.

  4. Hunger cost option

A config option decides whether each harvest consumes hunger points.

  5. Radius by hoe tier

A config option lets higher tier hoes harvest a larger area, and it can be turned off.

Use cases

Automated farm plots

Large fields of crops can be cleared and replanted by hand in a single pass, without breaking and placing each seed.

Modded crop farms

Crops added by other mods are harvested without writing compatibility rules, which suits modpacks with many farming mods.

Who it’s for: Players who farm crops by hand and want harvesting to replant the seed, and server owners who want a shared harvesting rule set in a multiplayer world.

Questions

Does RightClickHarvest need to be installed on clients?

No. Players join without it, since only the server has to run the mod.

Which dependencies does RightClickHarvest need?

Architectury API, Fabric API and JamLib are required. Each must be present on the server alongside RightClickHarvest.

Can the hoe requirement be turned off?

Yes. The Require Hoe option is set to false by default, and it can be changed in the config to make a hoe necessary for harvesting.
