JamLib
by Jam Core
JamLib supplies shared code that other mods depend on, including platform abstractions, a JSON5 config API and a checker for reposted mod files.
What it does
Other mods call into JamLib for code they share, so it has no gameplay of its own. Its platform abstractions are built on Architectury API, which lets the same code target several mod loaders. The JSON5 config API reads and writes configuration files in JSON5, a superset of JSON that allows comments and trailing commas.
The mod also includes a checker that looks for copies of mods that have been reposted from other sites, such as 9minecraft. Installation requires Architectury API and Fabric API. Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt all have builds, with the newest for 26.3 and 26.2. The license is MIT, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Platform abstractions
Shared interfaces let one codebase run across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt without separate loader-specific logic.
JSON5 config API
Mods built on the library can read and write configuration in JSON5, which permits comments and trailing commas.
Repost checker
A checker flags copies of mods redistributed from third-party sites, based on the mod files it finds.
Architectury base
The abstractions rest on Architectury API, so the library shares its loader handling with that dependency.

Use cases
Mod development
Developers who target several loaders can rely on the shared abstractions instead of writing a separate version of each feature.
Config handling
Mods that need comment-friendly configuration files can use the JSON5 API rather than writing their own parser.
Who it’s for: Mod developers who want shared loader code and JSON5 configuration, and server owners whose installed mods depend on JamLib.
How it compares
Platform is a library with the same cross-loader goal. Its license is the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and it covers Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.16.5 – 1.21.1. CICADA is a Fabric-only open source library under the MIT License for 1.16 – 26.3, and it is optional on either side. Magma Core is NeoForge-only, not open source, licensed under All rights reserved, and runs client and server for 1.21.5 – 1.21.10.
