Reaping
by Jam Core
Reaping lets players harvest animals with a reaper tool, and the way it works is deliberately grim, from a cursed craft to unpredictable outcomes.
What it does
Reaping adds a Reaper item that players craft and use to harvest animals. The method is intentionally cursed: an animal can turn into a child and drop meat instead of what a player expects, and sometimes the animal dies during the reaping process. Reaper variants come in Iron, Gold, Diamond and Netherite tiers, and an upgrade lets the reaper avoid some of these outcomes.
Reaping runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. It requires Architectury API, Fabric API and JamLib, and it is released under the MIT License as open source. Builds cover 1.16 – 26.2 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with 21 release versions in that range. Reaping settings are changed in the in-game configuration screen, which is opened from the mods screen.
