Hoe Tweaks
by Serilum
Hoe Tweaks changes how hoes work on crops and soil: pumpkins and melons break faster, and a hoe can till a wider area or un-till soil.
What it does
Crop blocks such as pumpkins and melons break much faster than by default, and the hoe can un-till soil it has tilled. The area a hoe tills grows with the tool tier, from a single block for wood to a 9x9 area for netherite. The wider area requires crouching while right-clicking the center block, which is the default setting, and each extra block tilled costs durability, reduced by the Unbreaking enchantment.
Every value is set in the config file: the break speed multiplier, the till range for each tier, the crouch requirement, and whether un-tilling only works with the other hand empty, so seeds can still be placed with a hoe in the other hand. Hoe Tweaks requires Collective on every loader it runs on. It is server-side only, so players join without installing it, and it is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.16.5 – 26.3, with files for 29 release versions. The mod is not open source; its source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Faster crop breaking
Pumpkins and melons break at a configurable multiple of the default speed, up to 20 times faster.
Tier-based till range
Each hoe material has its own till range, set separately in the config, so a netherite hoe tills a 9x9 area by default.
Un-tilling soil
Right-clicking tilled soil returns it to dirt, and an option limits this to moments when the other hand is empty.
Durability cost for wide tilling
Every extra block tilled wears the hoe, and the Unbreaking enchantment is taken into account.

Use cases
Harvesting large crop fields
Players with big pumpkin or melon farms break the blocks faster while keeping their hoe in hand.
Preparing farmland quickly
A high-tier hoe tills a large square in one click, so planting areas are ready sooner.
Who it’s for: Players who farm crops often and server owners who want faster crop breaking with tunable hoe behavior.
How it compares
RightClickHarvest is server-side only, open source under the MIT License and published for 1.14 – 26.3, so it works on the same loaders as Hoe Tweaks. Farm 3x3 is open source under the MIT License, requires the server while clients may leave it out, and covers 1.18 – 26.3. Simple Harvesting runs on client and server, uses All rights reserved and is not open source, with files for 1.21 – 26.3.
