Chest Tracker
by JackFred
With Chest Tracker, a player can search every container they have opened and find out which chest holds a given item, all from a client-side GUI.
What it does
Chest Tracker keeps a record of item contents on the client. Contents are saved locally, so the record works on Realms and multiplayer servers as well as single-player worlds. Pressing Y opens a search, and the GRAVE key opens the main GUI, where clicking an item searches for it in the current dimension. A search bar with several filters narrows the results.
The mod is client-side only, so it needs nothing on a server. It requires Fabric API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL), and it bundles Searchables and Where Is It. Chest Tracker is published for Fabric and Quilt across 26 release versions, 1.16.2 – 1.21.4, and snapshot builds are published as well. The code is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only. Development of the 1.x line has stopped, and Chest Tracker 2.0 is in progress.

Use cases
Finding items across a large base
A player with many storage chests in one dimension can locate a specific item without opening each container.
Playing on a multiplayer server
Because the record is kept on the client, a player on a server or Realm gets the same search without any server install.
Who it’s for: Players who keep many containers in survival or multiplayer worlds and want to search their contents without visiting each one. Server owners need nothing installed, since only the client runs the mod.
