Pretty Beaches
by BlayTheNinth
Pretty Beaches changes how water behaves when sand is dug up beside it, so digging a sand patch near water no longer leaves an unnatural hole behind.
What it does
Normally, breaking sand next to water lets the water flood into the new hole at once, and the flowing water can leave a messy digsite. The mod alters that water behavior so the hole does not fill with flowing water. Players can dig up sand where they need it without ruining the surrounding terrain.
The mod is meant for builders and survival players who want a clean result when they clear sand near a shoreline or pond. It creates water-free cases where water would otherwise be expected to fill the space. Because the change is about how the world reacts, the mod needs no changes to a player's own equipment or routine.
Pretty Beaches is a server-side only mod: only the server needs it, and players join without installing anything. It requires Balm on every loader, and Fabric API on Fabric. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 30 release versions, 1.18 – 26.3, and the code is all rights reserved, so it is not open source.
Key features
Dry sand digging
Breaking sand beside water no longer floods the hole with water source blocks straight away.
Clean digsites
Holes dug in sand near water stay free of the flowing water that usually spreads into them.
Targeted water physics
The water change applies only when sand is dug near water, and leaves other water behavior alone.
Shoreline building
Builders can clear sand patches on beaches while keeping the surrounding environment looking natural.

What the author says
This mod adjusts water physics when digging sand near water in an attempt to prevent ugly appearances of flowing water. This means you can go dig up that sand you really needed without having to worry about ruining the environment. This mod requires Balm, which must be installed alongside the mod.
