Welcome Message
by Serilum
With Welcome Message, server owners set up to three chat lines that each new player sees on joining, each with its own colour and optional link.
What it does
Each of the three messages can be given a colour from the 16 Minecraft chat colours, and a link can be attached so the full message becomes clickable. A message left empty is not sent. An empty line can also be sent first to separate the welcome from other chat.
By default the messages go only to players joining a dedicated server, not to a singleplayer world, and this can be changed in the config. The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing it, and it requires Collective. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 29 release versions, 1.16.5 – 26.3, with 26.3.0-2.9-fabric+forge+neo for 26.3 as the latest file. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.
Key features
Three configurable messages
Three separate chat lines can be edited, and the defaults are shown as a starting point for the config.
Colour per message
Each message takes a chat colour index from 0 to 15, from black through to white.
Clickable links
An optional URL on any message makes the complete line clickable for the player.
Dedicated server filter
A config option limits sending to dedicated servers, so singleplayer worlds stay quiet.

Latest build for each game version and loader.

Use cases
Server greetings
A server owner can greet players with rules or a link to a community site as they log in.
Who it’s for: Server owners who want a short, configurable greeting for players joining the world, without writing a plugin or command.
How it compares
Restore Chat Links is a client-side only mod under the GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 only, open source and published for 1.19.2 – 26.3, so it changes chat on the player's side rather than sending greetings. Welcome Players is server required with client optional, under the MIT License and covers 1.21 – 1.21.1, so its greetings and features are set on the server with clients free to skip it.
