Underground Beacons
by Serilum
Underground Beacons lets a beacon work when it is placed deep below the surface, regardless of how many solid blocks sit above it.
What it does
Normally a beacon needs an open sky path to its beam. This mod removes that requirement, so a beacon can be set up inside a cave system or a deep excavation and still function. The beam passes through blocks above it instead of being cut off. Collective is required, and the mod is listed for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 16 release versions, 1.20.1 – 26.3.
Key features
Beacons below the surface
A beacon keeps working when it is placed underground, with any number of solid blocks above it.
No shaft needed
Players no longer have to dig a straight tunnel up to open sky to power a beacon.
Quicker deepslate use
Beacons become simpler to use at deepslate levels, since they can be placed where the stone already is.

How it compares
The Purpurpacks beacon base mods, such as Copper Block Beacon Base [PurpurPack], are open source under the MIT License. Their environment means the server needs them, while a client may leave them out, across 1.20 – 26.2. Underground Beacons is not open source, is released as All rights reserved, and works on the server alone, so players join without installing it.

What the author says
Underground Beacons allows beacons to function, no matter how many solid blocks are above it. You'll be able to place it anywhere below the surface, without the need to dig straight up to make room for the beam. It'll pass through any block. It makes using beacons at the deepslate level a lot more convenient.
