SleepCycle

by VgLevelUp

SleepCycle changes what happens when players lie down in a bed, letting time pass gradually instead of skipping the night at once.

FabricNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21 – 26.2

What it does

Sleeping in SleepCycle does not jump the clock to morning. While players are asleep, the world time moves forward at a configurable tick speed, so the night passes over a longer stretch. The change is meant to make the sleep period feel more immersive than an instant skip, and the speed can be tuned to suit a server or a single world.

The mod also adds a set of progression steps around sleep. Making a bed earns an advancement, sleeping sufficiently long grants the Well Rested effect with temporary buffs, and sleeping too long can apply short debuffs instead. Uninterrupted sleep over a set duration earns a further advancement. SleepCycle also adds custom advancements, effects and statistics related to sleep.

SleepCycle is client and server, so both the server and every player need it. It requires Architectury API and Fabric API on Fabric, and it works with Mod Menu for its settings screen. The mod is open source under the MIT License and is published for Fabric and NeoForge across six game versions, with the 1.0.5 files for 26.2 as the latest builds.

Key features

  1. Gradual night transition

World time advances step by step while players sleep, instead of jumping straight to morning.

  2. Customizable tick speed

The speed at which time progresses during sleep can be set, so servers can tune the length of a night.

  3. Well Rested effect

Players who sleep long enough gain a temporary buff, while sleeping too long applies a short debuff.

  4. Sleep advancements

Advancements are earned for making a bed, for Well Rested sleep, for feeling tired and for uninterrupted sleep over a set time.
