Reclamation
by Lying
Reclamation makes the world's blocks decay over time, so a player can set terrain to slowly crumble, spread or fall away through datapack-configurable rules.
What it does
Decay processes run on blocks near players and change them gradually, adding change to a world that would otherwise stay unchanged. Stasis is one result: a world can stay on the same day indefinitely, with the first spawn forest still in place after a thousandth day. Rules are set through a datapack library, so a server owner decides which blocks decay and how.
Changing gamerule settings alters how the decay entries behave, which produces different results and can make a world collapse quickly. The mod works on Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21.4 – 1.21.5 and needs Architectury API and Fabric API. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.
Key features
Configurable decay
Decay processes are defined in a datapack library, which sets the blocks affected and the rate of change.
Gamerule control
Gamerule settings modify the decay entries, so the same rules can produce very different outcomes in one world.
Stasis worlds
Decay can be turned down so a world stays unchanged, holding a day or a landscape in place for a long time.
Nearby-only change
Blocks close to players change first, while distant terrain stays as it was.
Compatibility

Use cases
Survival challenges
Players can let their surroundings erode while they work, turning the base into a race against the decay.
Story and adventure maps
Map makers can build ruined or crumbling settings that change over time as players explore.
Who it’s for: Players who want a world that changes on its own, and server owners who want to set decay rules for everyone on a server.

What the author says
Minecraft is a world in stasis, unchanging from the day you first spawn in a forest to the thousandth day since you slew the Ender Dragon. Reclamation, through a datapack-configurable library, causes blocks in the vicinity of players to shift and change over time in order to add a little bit more life to the world.
