Just A Campfire

Just A Campfire brings the campfire block from later versions of the game back to 1.12.2 as a Forge mod.
What it does
The mod backports campfires to 1.12.2. Players can craft and place them, and the block works in a similar way to the newer vanilla version, with a few notable differences from it. Only the Forge loader is supported, for the 1.12.2 game version alone, and the files are released under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, which places the code in the public domain. The code is not open source in the usual sense of a published repository license.
Campfires run on both client and server, so a server owner and every player need the mod installed. Because the license is CC0 1.0 Universal, the code can be used and adapted without the usual attribution terms, though the release is not described as open source.

Dye a lit campfire with red, yellow, green or white dye to change the colour of its smoke.

How it compares
Particle Rain (Backport) is another 1.12.2 Forge mod with an MIT License, but it runs client-side only, so a server does not need it. Campfire Fix covers 1.20.1 on Fabric and Forge and is server-required with optional client installation, which makes it a different kind of change. Campfire Timer and CampfireOverhaul+ are for 1.20.1 – 1.20.6 and run on client and server, so they do not apply to the 1.12.2 build of this mod.
