PingDisplay
by Cukkoo
PingDisplay shows each player's exact latency as a number in the Tab player list, in place of the vanilla signal bars alone.
What it does
Minecraft's Tab list shows connection strength only as signal bars, so players have to guess at a player's real latency. PingDisplay replaces or extends that display with the exact ping in milliseconds. The ping value is colored by one of five levels, Excellent, Good, Medium, Bad and Terrible, and the thresholds that set each level can be changed.
Three display modes are available: Number Only, which swaps the bars for a value such as 42 ms; Bars + Number, which keeps the vanilla bars and adds the exact ping; and Vanilla, which restores the normal Minecraft display at once. Settings are changed in the in-game configuration screen, which Mod Menu opens when it is installed. The mod works without Mod Menu.
The mod is client-side only, so players join multiplayer servers without any server-side install, and servers do not need to run it. It requires Fabric API on Fabric, and Cloth Config is no longer needed as of version 1.1.0. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with the latest Fabric build at 1.1.0 for 26.2. The project is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Exact ping in the Tab list
Each player's real latency appears as a number, so the connection can be read without guessing from the signal bars.
Five color-coded levels
Ping values are grouped into Excellent, Good, Medium, Bad and Terrible, each with its own color.
Custom thresholds and colors
The millisecond cut-offs that decide each level, and the color of each level, can be set in the configuration screen.
Three display modes
Number Only, Bars + Number and Vanilla let players choose how the ping appears in the Tab list.
Settings kept across updates
Existing configuration is migrated automatically to the system used from version 1.1.0, so old config files need not be deleted.
Compatibility

How it compares
PingPing is also client-side and server-side compatible, licensed under the MIT License, and open source, but it is published for Fabric only and covers the 26.1 – 26.2 range. Sophisticated Ping runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and needs both client and server, with files for 1.19 – 26.1.2. Better Ping is a client-side mod for Fabric, open source under the MIT License, and covers 1.21.9 – 26.3.

What the author says
See every player's exact ping directly in the Tab list — no more guessing from signal bars. PingDisplay makes Minecraft's Tab player list much more useful by showing each player's real latency as a numerical value.
