Leaf Decay Instant removes leaves as soon as the tree they belong to is cut, so no floating leaf blobs stay in the sky.
What it does
Leaves that lose their connection to a log disappear at once instead of decaying over time. A chain decay mode lets the removal spread outward from the trunk in a wave, which players can watch as the canopy falls away. Extra drops can be set with a bonus chance for saplings, sticks and apples.
The mod is configurable, with more than 20 options that tune its behavior. In-game commands change settings at runtime with the leafdecay set command, so a server owner does not need to edit files to adjust them. Break sounds come in several variants with a configurable chance and pitch, and particles can be a leaf texture, composter particles or happy villager particles.
Leaf Decay Instant runs on the server alone, so players join without installing it. It uses Minecraft's native tick system and is released under the MIT License as open source. Builds exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 4 release versions, 26.1 – 26.2, with snapshot builds published alongside them.
