Dis-Enchanting Table
by Lupin
Enchantments can be stripped from an enchanted weapon, tool or book and moved onto a fresh book with the Dis-Enchanting Table, a workbench that the mod adds.
What it does
The Dis-Enchanting Table lets a player place an enchanted item or book in the workbench and separate its enchantments, moving them onto a book. The item can then keep its remaining use without the enchantments, which is useful for a sword close to breaking or a pickaxe the player no longer wants enchanted.
The table costs five levels of experience for every use, whatever the item. The mod requires MonoLib, and it runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Builds cover 1.20 – 26.1.2 for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the code is not open source, though public links exist for the source and the issue tracker.
Key features
Enchantment extraction
Enchantments on a weapon, tool or piece of armor are moved onto a book, leaving the item without them.
Fixed experience cost
Each extraction costs five levels of experience, the same for every item.
Workbench block
The table is a crafting-style block placed in the world, so it can sit in a base next to an enchanting table.
Recovering armor and tools
Valuable enchantments from gear the player no longer wants can be saved on a book for later use.
