Diet
With Diet, players track food groups such as fruits, grains and proteins, and each group rises and decays with what the player eats.
What it does
Diet is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later. It creates and manages dietary food groups. The default configuration sets up five classical groups: Fruits, Grains, Proteins, Vegetables and Sugars. Each group holds a value from 0% to 100% that reflects how much of that category the player has eaten. Eating matching foods raises a value, and every group slowly decays as the hunger bar empties.
The mod is built around configuration. Server owners and modpack developers may set up groups, classifications and diet effects of their own. Effects are set in the diet-effects.toml file in the serverconfig folder of a world save. Diet is a client and server mod, so the server and every player need it. It needs Fabric API on Fabric and Quilted Fabric API (QFAPI) or Quilt Standard Libraries (QSL) on Quilt. Cardinal Components API is bundled inside the mod. Files cover 1.16.5 – 1.20.1 for Fabric, Forge and Quilt, with 2.1.1+1.20.1 as the latest build.

Use cases
Modpack diet systems
Modpack developers can build a nutrition layer where players must balance what they eat to keep certain effects active.
Survival servers
Server owners can attach penalties to a narrow diet, such as lowering health when one group stays near zero.
Who it’s for: Modpack developers and server owners who want a food system with configurable groups and effects. Players in such packs see the group values on their own screen.
