Cobblemon Shearems
by tmetcalfe89
With Cobblemon Shearems, server owners can let players shear Pokémon from the Cobblemon mod and set what each species drops.
What it does
The mod adds a shearing action to Pokémon entities from Cobblemon. It ships without any built-in shearing behavior. Instead, a datapack-style framework lets the author choose which species can be sheared, how their appearance changes after shearing, and which vanilla-style loot table supplies the drops for each species.
Shearing frequency and drop contents are fully configurable, so a server or modpack can tie the resources to its own progression or economy. Cobblemon and Fabric Language Kotlin are required dependencies, so both must be installed alongside Cobblemon Shearems on Fabric.
The mod is published for Fabric only, across four game versions: 1.21.1, 1.21.2, 1.21.3 and 1.21.4. The latest file, 1.6-fabric-1.1.2, targets 1.21.1 and was released on 2025-03-18. Both client and server need it, and the code is released under the MIT License without being open source.
Key features
Configurable shearing framework
No shearing rules are predefined, so each server defines its own species list and loot tables.
Species-specific drops
Each Pokémon species can yield a distinct set of drops, set by its own loot table entry.
Cobblemon-driven species logic
Cobblemon's own species logic determines which Pokémon can be sheared and how they look afterward.
Vanilla-style loot tables
Drop definitions use the familiar loot table format, so existing datapack knowledge carries over.
Compatibility

Use cases
Who it’s for: The mod suits server owners and modpack creators who already run Cobblemon and want to configure how Pokémon yield resources. Players on a server that runs it need it installed as well.
How it compares
Move Tutors [Cobblemon] is server-side only and open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, with files for 1.21.1. PokeCoin is a client and server mod under the MIT License, not open source, also for 1.21.1. CobbleHunts is server-side only, open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and targets 1.21.1. Shearems differs in focusing on shearing loot tables rather than tutoring, currency or hunts.
