Block Dithering
by ZipeStudio
Block Dithering turns selected blocks into a dithered, see-through effect that fades with distance, so glass and similar blocks stop blocking the view.
What it does
Players get dithered transparency for blocks chosen in a configurable list. Close blocks fade out, while distant blocks look exactly like their vanilla versions, so the view is no longer blocked by glass-like surfaces. Lists accept block ids, tags and wildcards in whitelist or blacklist form, and the defaults already include minecraft:glass, minecraft:flowers and copper grate.
The in-game configuration screen uses YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) and lets players tune how far the fade reaches, the size of the dithering pattern and the least visible level a block keeps. Searchable block lists apply instantly, though some changes need a reload or a restart. The mod works with vanilla rendering, Sodium with Iris, shaders and resource packs.
Block Dithering requires Fabric API and MossyLib, and Mod Menu is optional for opening the settings screen. It is a client-side only mod, so a multiplayer server needs no installation. Builds are published for Fabric and NeoForge across six game versions, 1.21.1 – 26.2, under a Creative Commons Attribution No Derivatives 4.0 license, which is not open source.
Key features
Dithered transparency blocks
Blocks in the list render with a dithered fade, so their surface stops blocking the view when a player looks through it.
Distance-based fade
Fade distance, pixel size and minimum visibility can be adjusted with sliders in the configuration screen.
Block list matching
Whitelist and blacklist entries accept block ids, tags and wildcards, and the list can be searched by name.
Instant apply
Most list and slider changes take effect immediately, while some options need a reload or a restart.

Vitraux is open source under the MIT License, targets Fabric for 1.21 – 1.21.1, and runs on client and server.
