Not Enough Animations brings first-person animations such as eating, map holding and boat rowing to the third-person view.

What it does

Several actions look right in first person but not when other players or the third-person camera see them. This mod adds or reworks those animations: eating and drinking, holding a map with its content visible, blocking with a shield in the direction the player looks, rowing a boat, holding horse reins, climbing ladders and crawling out of water. During two-handed animations, such as using a bow, the offhand item is hidden.

All changes are visual, so the mod works on vanilla and third-party servers. It started as an expansion of a first-person model mod but works on its own. Not Enough Animations is client-side only, published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.16.5 – 26.3, under a custom license.

Key features

  1. Eating and drinking

    Other players visibly eat and drink in third person instead of standing still.

  2. Maps in hand

    A held map shows its content in third person once the client has received that map.

  3. Boats, horses and ladders

    Rowing, holding reins and climbing get proper third-person animations.

  4. Crawling

    A crawling animation replaces the swimming pose when the player crawls on land.
