Continuity

by Pepper_Bell

Continuity makes resource packs with OptiFine connected textures work without OptiFine, and ships packs for connected glass and bookshelves.

What it does

Connected textures let blocks such as glass join visually with their neighbors instead of showing a border on every block. Continuity reads resource packs written in the OptiFine connected textures format, the OptiFine emissive format for blocks and item models, and the custom block layers format. Two built-in packs come with it: one gives glass, sandstone and bookshelves connected textures, the other culls faces between stacked glass panes so connected panes look continuous.

Players install it on their own client; servers do not need it. On Fabric it requires Fabric API, and the dependency list also names Forgified Fabric API and Sinytra Connector for Forge style loaders. The code is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.

Key features

  1. Connected textures

Resource packs in the OptiFine connected textures format join neighboring blocks into one surface.

  2. Emissive block textures

Glowing parts of block and item model textures render at full brightness as the pack defines.

  3. Built-in packs

Default connected textures for glass, sandstone and bookshelves come included and can be switched on.

  4. Glass pane fix

A second built-in pack removes faces between vertically stacked panes so connected glass looks unbroken.
