Item Model Fix

by Pepper_Bell

Item Model Fix removes the transparent lines and edge gaps that appear on generated item models in Fabric games, including models added by other mods.

FabricClient-side onlyGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.15.2 – 1.19.2

What it does

Generated item models can show thin transparent seams along their edges. The mod corrects these seams in every generated item model it processes, so models introduced by other installed mods are covered as well. Only the client needs it, and the server can run without it.

The mod is compatible with rendering-focused mods and with all resource packs. It does not depend on Fabric API and runs without it. Its configuration screen is reached through a mod menu integration, so the settings can be opened from the game's mod list once the required helper libraries are present.

Builds exist for Minecraft 1.15.2 – 1.19.2 across seven release versions, with 1.0.3+1.19 for 1.19.2 as the latest Fabric file, published on 2022-06-30. The project is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and its source code and issue tracker are public.

Key features

  1. Seam correction

Fills in the transparent lines that appear at the edges of generated item models.

  2. Covers other mods' items

Corrections apply to item models added by other mods, not only to vanilla items.

  3. Rendering mod support

Works alongside rendering-focused mods and needs no extra setup to do so.

  4. Optional configuration

Settings open through a mod menu integration once the helper libraries it depends on are installed.

Use cases

Texture packs with rough edges

Players who see gaps around items in a resource pack can apply the fix without editing the pack itself.

Modded item collections

Modpacks with many item-adding mods get corrected models for all of them in one install.

Who it’s for: Players who notice transparent seams on item icons, particularly those running rendering-focused mods on Fabric. Server owners do not need to install it.
