BetterF3
by TreyRuffy
BetterF3 swaps the vanilla F3 debug overlay for a HUD whose sections, colors and positions can be rearranged to suit the player.
What it does
Players open the debug screen with F3 as usual, and the overlay shows the modules they have chosen. Each module can be moved, recolored or removed, and spacing can be added between modules. Individual lines within a module can be hidden, or the whole module can be turned off. A text shadow is drawn behind the rendered lines by default and can be switched off.
The mod works in single-player and on a client joining a server, and it changes only what the local player sees. It is available for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with files for 1.16 – 26.3 and snapshot builds published alongside the releases. Fabric API and Cloth Config API are required on Fabric and Quilt, and Mod Menu is optional for opening the options menu. The source code and issue tracker are public, and the mod is released under the MIT License as open source.
Key features
Customizable modules
Modules of the debug overlay can be added or deleted, so only the information the player needs stays on screen.
Position and color control
The position and color of each module can be changed independently of the others.
Line-level hiding
Single lines inside a module can be disabled, or an entire module can be hidden with one setting.
Text shadow
Rendered text gets a shadow by default, which keeps the overlay readable over bright backgrounds.
Options via Cloth Config
Settings are reached through Cloth Config, and Mod Menu can open the same screen from the mods list.

Use cases
Reading coordinates and biome data
Players who need position or biome information can keep those modules visible while hiding the rest.
Compact debugging
Modpack builders and testers can reduce the overlay to a few lines when recording or streaming gameplay.
Who it’s for: Players who use the F3 screen regularly and want to tailor which values it shows, and modpack builders who need a cleaner debug overlay for testing.
