Exordium
by tr7zw
Exordium renders the vanilla GUI and screens at a lower, configurable framerate, leaving more CPU and GPU time for the world.
What it does
Exordium limits how often the hotbar, menus and other vanilla interface elements are redrawn. The rate is a fixed value set in the mod's settings, so the interface no longer draws at the full framerate of the world. The time saved goes to rendering the world itself, which is the part the mod aims to speed up. Players on modest hardware can notice the difference most when the interface is otherwise drawn many times per second.
Because only the vanilla interface is handled, the mod is meant for players who use the default GUI. Mods that draw their own interface elements may not work with it, and the author does not plan to address those cases. Installation requires Fabric API on Fabric, and the mod runs on the client alone, so servers do not need it. Exordium is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and source code and an issue tracker are published. Files exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 23 release versions, 1.18 – 26.1.2.
Key features
Fixed GUI framerate
The hotbar, menus and screens are drawn at a set rate instead of every frame, which frees rendering time for the world.
Configurable rate
The target framerate for the interface can be changed in the mod's settings to balance smoothness and performance.
Vanilla interface only
The mod is built for the default GUI and does not change how mods with custom interface elements are drawn.
Known conflicts listed
The author documents several conflicts, including VulkanMod, MiniHUD's frame counter and ImmediatelyFast with Fast Crosshair.

What the author says
Render the GUI and screens at a lower framerate to speed up what's really important: the worldrendering. Renders the GUI at a lower fixed framerate (configurable in the settings), freeing up CPU and GPU time for the world rendering. There is no good reason to render the hotbar at 100+ FPS.
