Entity Dithering
by LopyMine
Entity Dithering changes how mobs fade into view, giving them a bedrock-like transparency effect on the client.
What it does
Entity Dithering adds a bedrock-like transparency effect to entities, so they appear with a dithered, pixel-patterned fade instead of a solid render. The effect applies to mobs and other entities as they are drawn on the player's screen, and it changes nothing about how the entities behave in the world.
The mod depends on DitheringLib and MossyLib, which supply the shared rendering code, and it also needs Fabric API on Fabric. Mod Menu and YetAnotherConfigLib are optional: Mod Menu gives access to the settings screen, and YetAnotherConfigLib provides the options interface when it is installed. Entity Dithering is compatible with shaders, so it can be used alongside shader packs.
Files are published for Fabric and NeoForge across five release versions, 1.21.11 – 26.2, under the Creative Commons Attribution No Derivatives 4.0 license. The mod is not open source, but its source code and issue tracker are publicly linked. The latest Fabric build is 1.3.0+26.2+fabric for 26.2, and the latest NeoForge build is 1.3.1+1.21.11+neoforge for 1.21.11.
Key features
Bedrock-like transparency
Entities are drawn with a dithered transparency effect that resembles the look of bedrock's fading texture.
Dithered entity fade
Mobs and other entities fade through a pixel pattern rather than a solid render, changing only their on-screen appearance.
Shader pack support
The dithered fade can be combined with shader packs to produce a different overall look for mobs.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Players who want a dithered, fading look for mobs and entities, especially those who also use shader packs or build atmospheric scenes. Because the mod is client-side only, it suits single-player players and multiplayer players alike, as long as they install it on their own client.
How it compares
Block Dithering is a Fabric and NeoForge client mod for 1.21.1 – 26.2 under the same Creative Commons Attribution No Derivatives 4.0 license, applying the dithering effect to blocks rather than entities. Hudless is also client-side on Fabric and NeoForge, covering 1.21 – 26.2 under the same license, but it hides the HUD instead of changing how entities render. cbbg is a client-side Fabric mod for 1.21.1 – 26.3 released under the MIT License, and it is open source, unlike Entity Dithering.
