Work Orders

by skyebound

Work Orders adds limited-time villager trades that players can take on for rare items and exchange for better goods.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1 – 1.20.4

What it does

Villagers offer work orders as temporary trades. Each order asks for a large quantity of an item and returns a more valuable reward, so a player can plan trips around orders that are open for a limited time. The mod follows vanilla trading behavior and keeps its additions inside the villager trade system.

Work Orders runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 and 1.20.4, and it is installed on both the client and the server. Architectury API, Fabric API and MidnightLib are required dependencies. Settings are exposed through MidnightLib configuration pages and datapacks, and the mod is released under the MIT License as open source. Source code, an issue tracker and a wiki are linked from its project page.

Key features

  1. Limited-time trades

Villagers offer work orders that expire, so the available trades change over time.

  2. Large item requests

Each order asks for a rare item in bulk and returns better goods in exchange.

  3. Configurable through MidnightLib

Trade and menu settings can be changed through MidnightLib configs and datapacks.

  4. Fancy model menus

The order screens use detailed models to present the available trades.
