Team Emblems

by skyebound

Team Emblems lets players form Minecraft teams by using items on Fabric, without typing commands.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1

What it does

Players create and join vanilla teams through an item interaction, and the server can toggle friendly fire for each team through the game's built-in team settings. Because it relies on the existing team system, no extra team logic is added on top of vanilla behavior.

The mod is built on the Trinkets library, so emblems sit in a trinket slot. Installation needs Fabric API and Trinkets alongside Team Emblems. It is client and server, so both the server and every player need it, and it is published for Fabric only for 1.20.1, with the 20.1.0 file dated 2025-01-12. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are public. Snapshot builds are not published.

Key features

  1. Item-based team creation

Teams are created and joined by using an emblem item rather than running a command.

  2. Vanilla team integration

Assignments use Minecraft's built-in team system, so team colors and name tags behave as in vanilla.

  3. Friendly fire control

Friendly fire can be disabled within a team through the standard team options.

  4. Trinket slot emblems

Emblems are worn in a Trinkets slot, keeping them out of the main inventory.
